1st May 2007: A Shoal of Mackerel engaged

We now have a new division of A Shoal of Mackerel called:

A Shoal of Mackerel engaged

which will be focussing on community, regeneration, awareness, art for 'kids' sake' and similar projects

Alex Bettencourt & Harald Melrose Turek had been discussing this for a while now and with a new publication
for Project Ability A Shoal of Mackerel are launching the division A Shoal of Mackerel engaged.

The publication by Project Ability consists of images and research findings of the artist in residence project
with three communication disorder units (predominantly children with autism and asbergers).
It is quite a unique project and the work created by the children has been fantastic and challenges assumptions
that children on the autistic spectrum are not imaginative or creative.

T
he book is being produced by the SQA and distributed by Project Ability and will be launched on the 12th of June.
