Essence Press publishes works by Julie Johnstone. These tend to explore perception, distillation, and contemplative experience. Essence Press also publishes less – a minimalist, and minimal, journal. Each issue normally consists of just one work, either new or reprinted. less is conceived as an anthology issued in individual parts – each work existing in isolation for contemplation, and yet part of a project that loosely gathers under the conceptual idea of 'less'.
