Ensixteen Editions

A London-based sequential illustrator, storyboard artist, writer and lecturer. The Ensixteen range has expanded to around 20 published editions since 1999. There are stand-alone issues which meditate on everything from bodily scars to London post 7/7 to the nature of dreams - as well as story arcs over several issues like the wartime America - 'you, nighted states' - trilogy.

The work has been purchased by private and public collections including Tate Britain, Manchester Metropolitan University, Leeds University, Winchester School of Art and Smith and Amherst Colleges in Massachusetts. Nicholson writes on book arts for 'The Blue Notebook' and recently delivered a paper 'Read You Like A Book: Time And Relative Dimensions In Storytelling' at 'The Story Of Things' narrative conference in Manchester (29/1/10).
Author and Broadcaster Phil Rickman has said: "This is the new social journalism... whimsical, personal, poignant", and comics historian Roger Sabin that Ensixteen 'represent the 'high end' of small press publishing. They are extremely well-drawn, and often spectacularly amusing'.

Please do try a sample if you come across the work - it is available via internet orders and selected outlets from Singapore to Bristol and - God's very own post code - London N16.
